To Whom It May Concern,

Gary Hart of Lakewood Builders spent a considerable amount of time as general contractor revamping my house. This project was by no means an easy task. Numerous contractors before Gary Hart made numerous promises but where unable to deliver. There where innumerable hurdles ranging from correcting mistakes by prior contractors, to abiding by numerous codes, to leading a team of sub-contractors.

In regards to price, Gary Hart is a fair and reasonable man. He is not out for the almighty dollar, as so many contractors are. He cares about the project and the customer – he takes pride in his work. These qualities are rare and difficult to find in any contractor today. When dealing with challenges, Mr. Hart always looked for and found a solution, keeping in mind the customer’s budget. Essentially, Mr. Hart is a professional.

My house had extensive structural problems, as well as numerous other problems. Today, the inside of the house looks like a brand new house and it definitely would not look this way if it were not for Gary Hart and Lakewood Builders.

I highly recommend Gary Hart and Lakewood Builders for any project.

To whom it may concern:

We observed a new second floor being added on a house similar to ours a couple of blocks from our home in Whittier.  We went over and talked to the homeowners and they were pleased with their job, both the design and the workmanship.  We also thought the design was very attractive and called in Lakewood Builders.  Gary Hart, the contractor worked with us very closely in designing two new bedrooms and a new bathroom to be placed above our garage.  Our job also included remodeling such as a re roof, re stucco of our entire house and garage, re painting or all our exterior trim and a new heating and air conditioning system to replace our existing floor furnace.

Mr. Hart went to our planning, building and zoning departments to see what we could do and then proceeded to design our project for us.  He established a budget range and guaranteed us that he would build the final project within our range.  After his initial design was presented to us, he gave us time to study it and then we had several more meetings with him where we were given the opportunity to refine the design to our unique tastes.

 

During construction the job proceeded very quickly with no periods where it sat idle.  Every workman was very skilled at his trade and did quality work.  All the workers were courteous.  Mr. Hart was always responsive to any concerns which we expressed.  For example, we were having a family gathering for the holidays and requested the project be cleaned up just prior to that.  Though Mr. Hart was not scheduling a clean up for another week, he quickly accommodated us and ordered a clean up the day before our party.

 

The job came out beautiful, even better than we expected.  We are very pleased with Lakewood Builders and do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is considering remodeling!

To whom it may concern:

We have just completed the third project on our Lakewood home with Lakewood Builders. Back in 1995 we called Lakewood Builders to give us a bid on remodeling our kitchen and bath.  We took several bids and chose Lakewood Builders because we liked their design, they had been in the area for over 20 years and their price was fair.  The construction experience was pleasant considering some of the “horror stories” we had heard about.  Our lovely kitchen with its custom hickory cabinets and lovely garden window became the talk of the neighborhood. 

In 2001, we called Lakewood Builders back to build us a family room and fireplace in our back yard.  This time we just worked with Gary Hart and Lakewood Builders and did not get other bids.  We love our family room and the wall between our previously remodeled kitchen and the family room was opened up so that standing at the kitchen sink we now look directly through the family room to our new fireplace.  With our vaulted ceiling, the whole effect is very pleasant.

This year, we wanted to add another room on the front of the house to be used as a library or office.  We called Gary again and he gave us a surprisingly good price.  We received the same professional design effort as we had in our two previous experiences and once again, construction proceeded in a very timely manner and was of high quality.  We noted that many of Lakewood Builders workmen and subcontractors were the same people that had worked on our 1995 and 2001 jobs.

We had been having a small problem with some moisture appearing on the beam of our vaulted ceiling family room addition from 2001.  It was minor and we had never called Lakewood Builders in to service it.  We pointed this problem out to Gary and he had the problem diagnosed and repaired free of charge.

Gary joked with me that now that our house had expanded from 1150 square feet to 2300 square feet, the only way to do another addition would be to go up but with characteristic candor he told us that if we did that we would probably be overbuilding for our area.  We told him that we already knew that  and though we would not be building again would continue to recommend Lakewood Builders to all our friends and acquaintances  for all their construction projects.
